Water products brand
The marketplaces own that search. They didn’t have to.

The account
An eCommerce brand selling water-saving products, on searches where the marketplaces normally take everything above the fold.
The diagnosis
The target query was transactional. Somebody typing it has finished researching and is choosing where to buy.
That is precisely the search Amazon and Flipkart dominate, which leaves a brand two options: bid for its own category on Google Ads, forever, or take the position.
Most brands take the first option because the second sounds impossible. It usually isn’t — marketplaces rank on domain strength, not on being the better answer to that specific question.
Renting the click every month is the expensive way to lose a search you could own.

The treatment
The query was mapped to a commercial page — not a blog post — with the H1, title and meta aligned to purchase intent rather than information.
Above the fold was rewritten around what a buyer needs to decide: sizes, options, use cases, delivery. FAQs took out the friction that stops a purchase.
Underneath it, the technical layer was fixed — crawlability, Core Web Vitals, compressed media, internal links from related products — and product and FAQ schema went in to qualify for rich results, with trust badges and policy links beside the call to action.
Then link signals from water and DIY communities. Not volume. Relevance.
The results
- #1 on Google for the target transactional query
- Ranked above Amazon and Flipkart on a purchase-ready term
- More qualified sessions into the category and more add-to-cart opportunities — with no paid media
An asset the brand keeps. Not traffic it rents.
